For me personally, I’ve never been the type of person to ever really learn a lot in the classroom. I always told my friends at school that I’m not a big school guy. But, all the learning I feel like I’ve done in my life has been through experiences. I think the most learning comes out of experiential learning, and that’s why I think that this program resonates with me a lot.

As a student planning to enter the financial services industry, learning from an industry leader and hearing about his experiences is extremely helpful in understanding the more technical side of finance careers. Additionally, I have been exposed to many elements of financial statements and financial analysis that I have not learned in my university courses. It is great to have in-depth education on the technical and more mathematical parts of finance with the one-on-one help from the teacher and TAs.

This program is a must-do for all ambitious, adventurous college students. You are given the freedom to explore an amazing city, while also being guided on a variety of great excursions. All the while, you are immersing yourself in a business environment where you learn a ton about business in real life. The best time of your life, and you learn a lot too!

Living in Cape Town has shown me literally how much life there is to explore outside of just my job and an office. It’s helped me realize while yes, I’m absolutely going to work hard and I want to build a successful career and that’s a huge priority for me, I also want to prioritize being outside, the ability to have so many friends, the ability to have a huge social network in the city that I live, and have fun.
