Matthew Biggins, iX Alum

Studied Economics at Notre Dame

"iX was the first thing employers asked about during interviews. No experience compares to the ability to learn a completely new skill and deliver multiple complex projects. On the job, iX has been incredibly useful. Most of the analytics work I do today is based off of what I learned while at iX."

Gain international work experience and build your resume—from your laptop.

After your course, you'll be placed in a nine-week online internship with an international company based in another country. But online doesn't mean disengaged: expect daily collaboration with your fellow students, frequent check-ins with your manager, and high standards for results.

Integrated with your course.

Our internships don't require prior experience. That's because what you learn in class will connect directly with your internship project, so you'll be applying your new skills to create value.

Remote and highly collaborative.

You'll be working closely with other talented students to complete the deliverables for your project. By the end, you'll be a professional at using online tools to communicate, collaborate, and create—while having the flexibility to work from anywhere.

Continuously supported.

You'll meet with your manager for check-ins, alignment, and feedback about your work. What's unique about this internship experience is that your teaching team will be available throughout to support you with both subject matter and relationship management.

The internship sets you apart.

After your course, you'll be placed in an online internship with teammates from your class.
Alexandra Ginsburg

Studied Policy at Cornell
Interned at Invictus Capital

"It felt like I did meaningful work and contributed as a valuable asset at Invictus. It was fun getting to know new people and see my personal strengths come into play. In our internship group we were able to see the group explore individual strengths and make everyone work towards creating the best final presentation."

Camryn Okere

Studied Business at WashUInterned at SoundCloud

"The working environment was young, driven, and collaborative. Once a week, the teams came together to share their work and see how the product and our projects progressed on a large scale. Everyone was also really concerned about us having a good experience."

Manmit Singh

Studied Comp Sci at DukeInterned at Locstat

“I wish every class I'm taking in college followed the hands-on approach my teachers took with my iX course. The integration of projects and classes really helped me get a handle of the concepts and hit the ground running at Locstat. The internship with Locstat was really the most enriching learning process in the journey.”

The future of work is remote.

Companies value self-driven and organized employees who can demonstrate increased productivity outside the office.

Companies in the US and around the world are offering opportunities to work remotely for their employees. Their biggest hesitation? A loss in productivity due to distraction or demotivation. You can improve your future career prospects—and set yourself up to be a productive remote employee—through practice. Our programs will help you gain the skill set and discipline to land a job with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility.

Jennifer Christie

Head of HR, Twitter

"We’ll never probably be the same. People who were reticent to work remotely will find that they really thrive that way. Managers who didn’t think they could manage teams that were remote will have a different perspective. I do think we won’t go back."

Remote Internship FAQs.

What's an online internship like?

An online internship is just like an in-office internship, with the obvious exception that you will not be commuting into the office each day. Projects are specifically scoped to be the same in complexity, length, content and duration as an in-office internship, with the added benefit of a comprehensive support structure in the shape of daily check-ins from your dedicated Teaching Team mentor, and frequent check-ins from your company manager.

What tools will we use to collaborate?

You will learn to use tools such as Zoom, Slack, and company-specific tools for enhanced remote team collaboration.

Your Teaching Team mentor will check in with your team daily, on a Zoom conference call. You will also have a dedicated Slack channel with your internship team, and your Teaching Team mentor, who will respond to any queries on this channel within 24 hours. Additionally, you'll be onboarded to any tools your company in particular uses.

What will be my weekly schedule?

For a few days every week, you will work on your internship project, in your internship team as well as individually. You will have regular check-ins on your progress on your internship project from your Teaching Team dedicated mentor, who will also be on hand to answer any questions you might have. Additionally, you will continue to have weekly classes in the virtual classroom with your Head Teachers, your teaching Assistants and all your course classmates.

Your manager at your internship company will also check in with your team every week - together with your Teaching Team mentor - to answer questions you might have about your internship project, as well as to check on the direction that your project is taking, and brainstorm with your team any challenges you might be having.

How can I get help if my team is stuck?

There are a number of avenues for you to reach out for help if your team is stuck. You have regular check-ins with your dedicated Teaching Team mentor, as well frequent check-ins from your company manager. You have a dedicated Teaching Assistant who will respond to any of your questions via your internship team’s Slack channel. And you can always reach out to our Internship Manager for any issues you might be experiencing, whether they have to do with your internship teamwork, or anything else.
