When there are so many products to choose from, people will gravitate towards those that resonate with their values and identity. Human-centred design can go a long way in building a deep connection and empathy. Being able to apply the fundamentals of design and knowing how to sell a product are two invaluable skills to have in any industry.

As a multi-disciplinary designer and researcher, I aim to integrate the wider context of culture, design psychology, visual design, strategy and user experience in my work. Strategic minded, I look at the bigger picture and weigh problems by ascertaining their unintended consequences and potential benefits. I am a digital nomad, working across timezones and cultures.

Practical skills applied on real-world projects.

Once pupils have the knowledge and skills, they’ll apply them to a practical project for some real-world learning. The design curriculum culminates with real-world Design and Marketing projects. Industry and company needs change fast, and so do the projects as they evolve to match these changes.

Below are some examples of past projects:
Social App Project

The company is developing an app for users to relive the experiences that make them feel happy and feel like they are with their family and friends, while immersing themselves in their favorite memories.

The app enables users to stockpile memories and journal the exciting parts of life in mixed media form — photos, music, voice memos, and quotes. For this project, interns worked to create marketing material for the app’s market entry in the US. This happened across multiple platforms with direct supervision from the manager. Interns also contributed to ongoing design thinking workshops and created new exercises to improve all team members’ creativity.

Internet of Things

This client provides a complete framework for the acceleration of IoT ventures. They are an operational VC, technology provider, and innovation partner made up of a strong team of business architects, technology experts, and experienced founders. The students worked on a project to align their branding in the physical and digital environment. Working closely with the Design Department and Marketing Team, they achieved a solid understanding of how to establish branding of IOT company builder. They worked across social media contents, all digital and printed marketing materials, using design thinking techniques to create unique and on point branding features such as layout, illustration, motion, and retouching.

Online audio distribution platform

The client is an online audio distribution platform that enables its users to upload, record, promote and share their originally-created sounds. Through their creator community, anyone can discover the largest and most diverse range of music - from the biggest name artists to the freshest, raw talent - and stay in tune with what’s driving and shaping music culture both now, and in the future. Our students worked on a project supporting the operations team to improve their help center. Students were provided with mentorship and design direction from the product design team while working directly with stakeholders from their ComOps team.

Lead Generation Project

The company’s main focus is to help companies build a carbon-neutral and sustainable economy. They do this by providing a digital platform for companies to reduce their environmental impact, engage their employees, and drive their own agenda towards carbon neutrality.

For this project, interns worked on lead generation from social media, including developing a social media strategy to generate leads from the company’s channels (Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube), and defining the target audience for each channel and the corresponding strategy to get people to request a demo. The main deliverable was a full content strategy for each channel focused on generating leads.
